{"id":311038,"date":"2026-10-21T03:48:23","date_gmt":"2026-10-21T03:48:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/311038\/"},"modified":"2026-10-21T03:48:23","modified_gmt":"2026-10-21T03:48:23","slug":"pittsburgh-man-faces-federal-indictment-for-gun-violations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/311038\/","title":{"rendered":"Pittsburgh man faces federal indictment for gun violations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">A Pittsburgh resident has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of violating federal firearms law.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Jason Briggs, 47, was named as the sole defendant in the one-count indictment, U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti announced on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">According to the indictment, the alleged offense occurred on or about May 19, 2026. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Briggs is charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition after previously being convicted of state felony drug trafficking charges. Federal law prohibits convicted felons from possessing firearms or ammunition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Briggs faces a statutory sentence of at least 15 years and up to life in prison, along with a fine of up to $250,000. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Assistant U.S. Attorney V.
