PHILADELPHIA \u2014\u00a0City\u00a0launches\u00a0the\u00a0Philadelphia Business Resource Hub<\/a>,\u00a0a user-friendly platform that\u00a0provides\u00a0access to personalized help, guides, events, organizations, and resources in one place.\u00a0Developed as part of Mayor Cherelle L. Parker\u2019s PHL Open for Business Executive Order, this website\u00a0is designed to help businesses navigate available services, find relevant support, and connect with organizations that can help meet their needs.\u00a013\u00a0advisory\u00a0board members have been selected, representing\u00a0business service organizations, neighborhood organizations, and entrepreneurs, to help guide the continued expansion and maintenance of the Philadelphia Business Resource Hub.<\/p>\n

Since the beginning of the Parker Administration, with support from JumpStart Small Business Support initiative, the Department of Commerce has\u00a0invested more than $30 million into businesses in Philadelphia. This includes\u00a0grants to 2,065 businesses, and personalized\u00a0assistance\u00a0provided to more\u00a0than 19,373 businesses served by the Mayor\u2019s Business Action Team.<\/p>\n

Building upon\u00a0these investments, the Philadelphia Business Resource Hub\u00a0is\u00a0now launched to\u00a0make it easier for businesses\u00a0to connect to City\u00a0resources\u00a0and beyond.\u00a0The\u00a0site currently features:<\/p>\n

More than 300 resources\u00a0including funding, legal support, and mentorship.
\nMore than 140 events\u00a0across the city.
\nMore than 250 local organizations\u00a0that provide programs and\u00a0services.
\nThree core guides\u00a0about how to start a business, how to connect with organizations across the city and how to obtain advising services.
\nAccess to personalized\u00a0assistance\u00a0from the Mayor\u2019s Business Action Team\u00a0in multiple languages for all aspects of doing business in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to\u00a0making it easier to do business in Philadelphia.\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0why\u00a0our administration\u00a0worked diligently\u00a0to launch the Philadelphia Business Resource Hub,\u201d said\u00a0Mayor Cherelle L. Parker.\u00a0\u201cIn partnership with our economic development partners\u00a0across the city, we are building\u00a0a stronger, more inclusive economy\u00a0while\u00a0providing access to resources\u00a0for the businesses and residents that call Philadelphia home.\u00a0This is what One Philly, a United City, looks like.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPhiladelphia has a strong network of partners and resources dedicated to supporting businesses.\u00a0\u00a0The launch of our Philadelphia Business Resource Hub\u00a0is a reflection of\u00a0that network,\u201d said\u00a0Karen Fegely, Acting Commerce Director, City of Philadelphia.\u00a0\u201cThe site also provides access to the\u00a0variety of programs,\u00a0resources\u00a0and personalized\u00a0assistance\u00a0from the\u00a0Parker Administration.\u00a0Together,\u00a0we will continue to\u00a0help all businesses succeed with access to economic opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe heard from businesses\u00a0that having\u00a0one\u00a0central place\u00a0to find resources, guidance and support\u00a0is needed.\u00a0We listened\u00a0and followed through by launching the Philadelphia Business Resource Hub,\u201d said\u00a0Yvonne Boye, Deputy Commerce Director, Office of Neighborhood Economic Development. \u201cThe Hub belongs to all of us.\u00a0This is only the beginning. Our foundation is set, with more to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Philadelphia Business Resource\u00a0Hub\u00a0was\u00a0developed by the Philadelphia Department of Commerce, in\u00a0partnership\u00a0with Ecomap Technologies.\u00a0Advisory\u00a0committee members,\u00a0businesses\u00a0and partner organizations\u00a0provided\u00a0ongoing guidance to help shape its development.\u00a0PIDC,\u00a0United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, and JP Morgan Chase\u00a0served\u00a0as key supporting partners\u00a0in alignment with the\u00a0Philadelphia Equitable Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Report<\/a>, which drove this project forward.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn a quarterly basis, we gathered more than 50 Business Support Organizations\u00a0for feedback as the site progressed. We also conducted a rigorous procurement process and multiple rounds of focus groups with small business owners and their supporters,\u201d said\u00a0Liam Kelly Fleming, Senior Director, Small Business Assistance Programs, Office of Neighborhood Economic Development, Department of Commerce.\u00a0\u201cEquitable Cities Consulting, served as\u00a0project manager, helping the\u00a0City\u00a0carry the project from proposals to reality. We are grateful for the partnership with Ecomap Technologies,\u00a0our\u00a0advisory committee members,\u00a0the City\u2019s Office of Innovation and Technology,\u00a0and the Commerce team that\u00a0supported this throughout. This\u00a0has been a true team\u00a0effort.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAt\u00a0EcoMap\u00a0we believe that regions already have the ingredients, and what they need is the infrastructure that connects them,\u201d said\u00a0Sherrod Davis, Co-founder and CEO,\u00a0EcoMap\u00a0Technologies.\u00a0\u201cPhiladelphia committed to building that infrastructure with us, so the Department of Commerce and its partners can coordinate small business support across every neighborhood.\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0proud of what we built together.\u201d<\/p>\n

As the Philadelphia Business Resource Hub continues to expand, the\u00a0City\u00a0encourages businesses and organizations to\u00a0submit\u00a0additional\u00a0resources directly through the\u00a0website.\u00a0The\u00a0City\u00a0also welcomes feedback through the website\u2019s general feedback form, including suggestions for future guides and other improvements.<\/p>\n
