Dupont VFW Post 4909 Home Association annual Halloween party, Oct. 31, post\u2019s main banquet hall, 401 Main St., with entertainment by the Fabulous 45\u2019s. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., dinner served at 6, music from 7-10 and cash bar from 4:30-10, $30\/person. Deadline for reservations is the Wednesday before the party. Tickets cannot be sold at the door. All PLCB regulations apply. Prizes for funniest, scariest, etc., costumes will be awarded. Divine Mercy Parish Veterans Mass<\/p>\n
Divine Mercy Parish, 312 Davis St., Minooka section, will host its annual Veterans Mass on Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. The Mass is open to the public with all local veterans and their families especially invited to attend. Celebrant of the Mass will be the Rev. Paul A. McDonnell, O.S.J., pastor. A social and program will immediately follow the Mass in the parish hall with Jake Norotsky from the Wounded Warrior Project as guest speaker. Scranton Veterans Memorial Park will hold a Veterans Day program Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. at Scranton Veterans Memorial Park Monument. There will be a prayer said for all veterans and a wreath placed in their honor. Public is invited.<\/p>\n
Combined Veterans Day ceremony<\/p>\n
Jessup American Legion Post 411 and Jessup VFW Post 5544 combined Veterans Day ceremony, Nov. 11, 11 a.m. Both organizations will proceed to Veterans Memorial Stadium for remarks by representatives of both posts. Following the ceremony, food and refreshments will be offered by Post 411, 508 Church St. Public is invited.<\/p>\n

Jermyn\u2019s annual Veterans Day ceremony, Nov. 11, 11 a.m., Veterans World War I Park, Bridge Street. The William J. Griffiths American Legion Post 465 and Commander R. Fred Jones, master of ceremonies, will present the ceremony honoring veterans. Guest speaker is Kevin Collins, Jermyn native. Program will include Mayor Stacey Cook, and guest soloist Christine McGreachie with the Lakeland School District Band providing patriotic music. Immediately following the ceremony, a light luncheon will be provided and sponsored by the Jermyn Shade Tree Commission, events committee and W.J.G. American Legion in the SS. James\/George Episcopal Church lower rooms. All are welcome to the ceremony and luncheon.<\/p>\n
