{"id":314969,"date":"2026-10-27T02:06:14","date_gmt":"2026-10-27T02:06:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/314969\/"},"modified":"2026-10-27T02:06:14","modified_gmt":"2026-10-27T02:06:14","slug":"parkland-high-school-student-who-was-hit-by-falling-tree-branch-dies-from-injuries-allentown-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/314969\/","title":{"rendered":"Parkland High School student who was hit by falling tree branch dies from injuries | Allentown Area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ALLENTOWN, Pa. &#8211; A 15-year-old Parkland High School student who was <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wfmz.com\/news\/area\/lehighvalley\/tree-falls-on-young-male-in-lehigh-valley-parkway\/article_10168128-e4ae-4f3c-8431-87013dd45049.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">hit by a falling tree branch<\/a> died Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The boy, who was from Allentown, was pronounced dead at a local hospital shortly after 11:30 a.m., Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio said in a news release.<\/p>\n<p>Buglio said the student\u2019s cause of death was determined to be complications of multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of death was ruled an accident.<\/p>\n<p>The branch hit the student on Saturday, Sept. 26 shortly after 9 a.m. in the area of the 1300 block of Oxford Drive in Allentown, near the Little Lehigh Parkway, Buglio said.<\/p>\n<p>                        <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAAQAAAADCAQAAAAe\/WZNAAAAEElEQVR42mM8U88ABowYDABAxQPltt5zqAAAAABJRU5ErkJggg==\" alt=\"Tree falls in Lehigh Valley Parkway 2\" class=\"img-responsive lazyload full blur\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1080\" data- data-\/><\/p>\n<p>             <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/6ab7e6e1a207f.image.jpg\" alt=\"\" aria-hidden=\"true\" loading=\"lazy\" height=\"113\" width=\"200\"\/><\/p>\n<p>                                    NVP | WFMZ-TV<\/p>\n<p>Buglio said the boy was reportedly a student at Parkland High School and was in the area with members of his cross-country team at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Buglio said he will not publicly release the juvenile\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do not believe that releasing his name serves any meaningful public purpose at this time,\u201d Buglio said in the news release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore importantly, I believe his family deserves the time, space, and privacy to grieve the loss of their loved one without additional public attention. I respectfully ask that the family&#8217;s privacy be honored during this incredibly difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to personally extend my deepest and most heartfelt condolences to this young man&#8217;s family, friends, teammates, and the entire Parkland High School community,\u201d Buglio said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe loss of a young life is especially heartbreaking, and my thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by this tragic accident.
