PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A woman who stopped to help two men with a dead car battery was robbed at gunpoint in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park neighborhood, according to investigators.<\/p>\n

The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Friday in the 1100 block of West Courtland Street.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the two men, seen in surveillance images, were seeking a jumpstart after their vehicle’s battery died.<\/p>\n

A neighborhood resident offered to help and allowed the men to connect jumper cables to her vehicle. After the battery was successfully restarted, one of the men allegedly pulled a gun and demanded cash from the woman.<\/p>\n

The victim handed over her pocketbook, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Police said one suspect fled on foot, while the other drove away in a silver Jeep Compass.<\/p>\n

Residents in the area said incidents like this make people hesitant to help others.<\/p>\n

“People do things because they’re either desperate or they’re just crazy. So, you know, whoever that kind of person was to get a jump, can’t be so kind anymore. That’s where society becomes unbalanced because you can’t even do the right thing. They got to question, you know, me giving you a bottle of water, are you going to stick me up? Like, ain’t that crazy?” said Mac Johnson of Hunting Park.<\/p>\n

So far, no arrests had been made.<\/p>\n

Investigators said the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.<\/p>\n
