Park E. Stanley, 68, of New Milford, PA passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026 at the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center in Scranton, PA, surrounded by his devoted family. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Diane; by two children, Daniel (Amy) Frederici, and Wendy Frederici; five grandchildren, Brittany (Larry) Totaro, Paige Shiffler, Madison Frederici, Jason Herrell, and Rowan Herrell; special friends, John and Angela McCarthy, Kurt and Debbie Czapnik, Nate and Karen Miller, Margie Tator, Linda Sherwood, and Karen Bolcavage. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Emory and Louise Stanley of New Milford; and his two beloved cats, Molly and Maggie.

Park graduated from Blue Ridge High School in 1976 and went on to serve his country in the US Marine Corps, where he received training as a Field Artillery and Battery Man. He was assigned to the Delta Battery 210 Platoon.

While visiting Italy, during a Mediterranean cruise aboard the USS Trenton, Park attended Easter Sunday services at the Vatican, where he was able to see and hear Pope John.

Park enjoyed many years of volleyball at Green Gables and bowling with friends in Great Bend. He was an avid lover of music and a frequent concert-goer. He loved listening to Rush, Chicago, AC/DC, Yes, Billy Idol, and so many more.

His love of trucks began as a child, enjoying the sound of jake brakes as the rigs passed his house. He learned to drive in the Marines, which encouraged his passion. He drove tractor trailer for 16 years with Kerr Motor Lines of Binghamton, NY. Park worked for over 20 years with USPS in Scranton, both as a driver and as a driving instructor.

He thoroughly enjoyed being a Grandpa: telling jokes, wrestling with the grandkids, swimming, flying kites, riding bikes, playing hide and seek, trips to local fairs, carnivals, local farms, Corning Glass Museum, baseball, basketball, and hockey games.

A special trip for Park was attending his grandson’s US Marine Corps Bootcamp Graduation at Parris Island, SC on September 19, 2024. This was the same Bootcamp he graduated from in 1976. He was able to show his grandson the exact yellow footprints that he had stood on when he arrived to Parris Island.

Per his request, there will be no public service. The family will hold private services in his honor at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Spirits Feral Cat Program, PO Box 49, Montrose, PA 18801 or to True Friends Animal Welfare Center 16332 SR 706, Montrose, PA 18801.

Park E.
