COPLAY, Pa. \u2014 A water main break on a street in Lehigh County has expanded into a sinkhole and forced two families from their homes.<\/p>\n

It all started Sunday night in a neighborhood in Coplay.<\/p>\n

Crews are actively doing work to resolve the water main break and fix the giant sinkhole.<\/p>\n

69 News saw a handful of trucks bringing in stone to work to slowly fill the hole.<\/p>\n

South Fourth Street has been closed for three days now.<\/p>\n

Municipal Authority officials say crews responded to the break around 5 p.m. Sunday.<\/p>\n

Workers have been observing the problems beneath the road surface.<\/p>\n

Utilities are out at a twin home on the street, but officials say other homes still have safe water.<\/p>\n

Two families were advised to evacuate their homes.<\/p>\n

The Northampton Borough Municipal Authority is working with the Coplay Borough and Coplay-Whitehall Sewer Authority.<\/p>\n

There is no word on when the work will be completed.<\/p>\n
