The free community events will be led by Erie Mayor Daria S. Devlin and community member Deonte Cooley on October 31, offering participants a firsthand look at key bayfront destinations while discussing plans for redevelopment, recreation, public access, and future investment along the waterfront.

Organizers say the tours are designed to encourage conversation about the current state and future potential of Erie’s bayfront. Community members will have the chance to share feedback, ask questions, and learn more about the One Bayfront vision as planning efforts continue.

“Our waterfront belongs to the community,” said Mayor Devlin. “These conversations are a chance for residents to ask questions and learn more about the opportunities posed on Erie’s waterfront.”

The first walking tour will begin at 10 a.m. at the Erie County Blasco Library, located at 160 E. Front Street. Participants will walk to Dobbins Landing and the Bayfront Convention Center before returning to the library. The route covers approximately 1.46 miles.

A second tour will get underway at 12 p.m. from Liberty Park, 828 W. Bayfront Parkway. Participants will walk toward the future Market House site before returning to Liberty Park. The route is approximately 1.64 miles.

Organizers say the tours are intended for both longtime visitors of the bayfront and those who may be exploring the area for the first time. Along the way, attendees will learn about locations identified for future improvements and development while helping shape priorities for Erie’s waterfront moving forward.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring ideas, questions, and feedback to share during the events.
