NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, Pa. – A Northampton man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for manufacturing child pornography on multiple occasions over a period of about nine years, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced.<\/p>\n
Efrain Baez-Feliciano, 38, was sentenced Wednesday to 50 years in prison, a lifetime supervised release, and various financial penalties, including $98,500 in restitution to victims, Metcalf says.<\/p>\n
According to the attorney\u2019s office, the defendant is also subject to mandatory registration as a sex offender under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and Megan\u2019s Law.<\/p>\n
Attorney Metcalf says the man was charged by indictment in October of last year.<\/p>\n
In June, Baez-Feliciano pleaded guilty to 22 counts of production of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.<\/p>\n
The attorney\u2019s office says this case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n
