PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed and another man was stabbed during an incident in Philadelphia’s Frankford neighborhood Wednesday night.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to the 5400 block of Harbison Avenue and found a 64-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and a second man, believed to be in his 30s, suffering from multiple stab wounds.<\/p>\n
The shooting victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.<\/p>\n
Police said the second victim suffered stab wounds to his arms and legs. He remains hospitalized in critical condition but is expected to survive.<\/p>\n
Investigators said witnesses reported hearing an altercation inside the home followed by a gunshot.<\/p>\n
According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, the 62-year-old man lived at the residence.<\/p>\n
Authorities recovered a handgun and three knives from the scene.<\/p>\n
Police believe the two men knew each other.<\/p>\n
The identities of the men have not been released.<\/p>\n
Small said investigators are not seeking any additional suspects at this time.<\/p>\n
The circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation.<\/p>\n
