The new restaurant and bar, located in the Nazareth Student Center at 1300 University Ave., Dunmore, is open to students and the public.

Gourmet Dining, Marywood’s dining services vendor, provided funding to construct the facility and operates the restaurant. The university’s School of Architecture students contributed to Bar None’s design.

Bar None reflects the university’s commitment to enriching campus life and strengthening connections with the greater Scranton community.

“A vibrant university is about more than what happens in the classroom. It’s about creating a sense of belonging, building relationships and offering experiences that bring people together,” said President Lisa Lori in a university press release. “We want Marywood to be a place where students feel connected and engaged, where our alumni always feel welcome, and where the greater community sees our campus as a destination for culture, entertainment and shared experiences. Bar None is one part of that larger vision.”

The grand opening celebration featured remarks from university leadership, tours of the facility, menu samplings and a ceremonial cake-cutting.

Bar None features specialty pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, soups, salads and signature offerings. The venue provides a distinctive setting for casual dining, social gatherings and special events.

The restaurant and bar is open Monday, Thursday and Friday, with a full menu from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and bar hours from 4:30 to 11:30 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, full menu from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and bar hours from 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Bar None is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Wright Center partners with tech firm to improve access to digital health care

The Wright Centers for Community Health and Graduate Medical Education is strengthening its commitment to digital accessibility through a partnership with TechA11y, a Pennsylvania-based provider of AI-powered technology.

The initiative reflects a shared view between the Wright Center and TechA11y that digital accessibility should be considered part of an organization’s broader commitment to serving its community.

For individuals with disabilities, accessible digital resources can affect the ability to locate health information, learn about available programs and services, understand educational opportunities, access documents and media, and interact effectively with an organization online.

Through the partnership, TechA11y has deployed its accessibility technology and services across the Wright Center’s primary website and affiliated digital properties, including TheWrightCenter.org, HealthyMOMS.org, TheWrightGraduation.org and other digital assets.

The initiative also extends to the Wright Center’s PDF documents and digital media, providing a more comprehensive approach to making online information and resources accessible to people of all abilities.

For the Wright Center, the initiative reflects both a desire to address accessibility requirements and a broader commitment to ensuring that patients, families, learners and community members can access important information and digital resources without unnecessary barriers.

“Access has always been central to the work of the Wright Center, and today that has to include digital access,” said Paul Krzywicki, executive director of marketing and communications at the Wright Center, said in a news release.

“Our websites and digital resources are important ways that patients, families, learners and members of our communities connect with our enterprise. We want those experiences to be welcoming and accessible to everyone. Our partnership with TechA11y gives us a continuous approach to improving accessibility as our digital content evolves,” Krzywicki said.

Digital accessibility presents an ongoing challenge for organizations because websites and other digital resources are constantly changing. New pages are published, documents are uploaded, media is added, third-party components change and users encounter content in different contexts.

TechA11y was designed to address that environment as continuous compliance infrastructure rather than as a one-time accessibility audit or user-facing widget. Instead of treating accessibility as a one-time project, the partnership establishes an ongoing accessibility program across the Wright Center’s digital presence.

The technology firm’s continuous compliance infrastructure monitors covered websites for accessibility issues, generates and deploys remediation, responds to changing and dynamic web content and documents remediation activity over time. The engagement also includes accessibility remediation services for PDF documents and digital media.

For TechA11y, the collaboration represents an important expansion into the healthcare sector and an opportunity to work with an enterprise whose mission strongly aligns with the principles of digital inclusion.

“The Wright Center is an exceptional organization for TechA11y to partner with as we expand our work in healthcare,” said Kirk Uhler, CEO of TechA11y, said in the release. “Digital accessibility is ultimately about people. When someone is looking for health information, trying to understand available services, learning about a community program or simply trying to navigate an organization’s website, disability should not be the reason they encounter a barrier.”

Marywood University celebrates grand opening of Bar None Marywood University officially celebrated the grand opening of Bar None…

[15
3052,178,180,179,3098,3053,3054
post-316679","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-scranton","tag-midvalley","tag-scranton","tag-scranton-headlines","tag-scranton-news","tag-upvalley","tag-valley-advantage","tag-valley-advantage-news
["GET
