PITTSBURGH \u2014 A teenager is behind bars, charged as an adult, after a standoff in Pittsburgh\u2019s East Allegheny neighborhood. <\/p>\n
Police say she stabbed a woman before barricading herself inside. <\/p>\n
According to the criminal complaint, 17-year-old Daynia Ayers of Steubenville, OH, was arrested. <\/p>\n

The building was also being used as a short-term rental. <\/p>\n Two teenagers died that Easter Sunday morning. They had been attending a party with about 200 others. <\/p>\n No one has ever been arrested or charged. <\/p>\n Since that 2022 shooting, there have been attempts to change the laws surrounding short-term rentals in the city. <\/p>\n Days after the shooting, Councilman Bobby Wilson introduced legislation that would require short-term rentals to register before operating. <\/p>\n PREVIOUS COVERAGE >>> City Council introduces legislation that would regulate short-term rentals after deadly shooting<\/a><\/p>\n It was passed by Pittsburgh City Council in September of 2023 but was never fully implemented.<\/p>\n PREVIOUS COVERAGE >>> Rental properties will now be regulated in Pittsburgh under new bill<\/a><\/p>\n Wilson cited ongoing litigation.<\/p>\n On New Year\u2019s Day 2026, a woman was shot in the leg in East Allegheny.
