BUSHKILL TWP., Pa. – A new destination for children to let loose while enjoying interactive activities is coming soon to Northampton County.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Little Steps Soft Play Land, a soft play facility for young children, will hold its grand opening 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at 196 W. Moorestown Road in Bushkill Township.<\/p>\n

Grand opening festivities\u00a0will include basket raffles and free pick-your-own pumpkins for the first 50 children. Professional outdoor fall photos also will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n
The new facility will occupy an updated space that previously housed The Growing Tree, a store selling new and gently used children’s clothing, shoes, books and other items, which closed over the summer.<\/p>\n
Little Steps Soft Play Land will feature multiple playrooms for babies, toddlers and preschoolers up to age 5, owner Renee Szaro said.<\/p>\n
There will be soft, padded flooring throughout the facility, along with play sets, small slides, climbing apparatus, ball pits, bouncy items and sensory toys, among other features, Szaro said.<\/p>\n
A party room will offer space to enjoy pizza, cake and other refreshments during birthday parties and other private functions.<\/p>\n

“We’ll be able to host private parties in addition to our regular play sessions,” Szaro said.<\/p>\n
“Parents will be able to come in and interact with their kids, who will have all sorts of fun things to play with – bouncy toys, see-saws, a little kitchen set and so much more. It’ll only be for little kids, up to around age 5.”<\/p>\n
Open play sessions, lasting 1.5 hours, will be $15 per child and $10 for each additional child in the same family.<\/p>\n
Advance online bookings are highly encouraged, and walk-ins will be accepted on a space available basis.<\/p>\n
Discounted rates also will be available through monthly single and family memberships, offering unlimited visits, Szaro said.<\/p>\n
Children must wear grip socks, which can be purchased on-site and worn on return visits. If they already have grip socks from other venues such as trampoline parks, they may wear those, Szaro said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really excited,\u201d Szaro said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love working with kids and families and can\u2019t wait to welcome everyone. I also like that it\u2019ll only be for children up to age 5. So, you won\u2019t worry about your little one playing with a big kid and possibly getting hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

Little Steps will operate six days a week: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays, Szaro said.<\/p>\n
The facility will feature a complimentary coffee and tea bar, and other drinks will be available for purchase.<\/p>\n
Szaro, who lives nearby in Bushkill Township,\u00a0 previously operated The Growing Tree children\u2019s clothing store at the site.<\/p>\n
\u201cI opened The Growing Tree because I wanted to create something local to help families, and I think [Little Steps] will serve the area even better,\u201d Szaro said.<\/p>\n
