He did not participate in training camp or preseason games. <\/p>\n<p>Blomqvist was injured in the second preseason game and missed the remainder of the preseason. On Sept. 26, the Penguins downgraded Blomqvist from day-to-day to out weeks with a lower-body injury. <\/p>\n<p>Blomqvist played 15 NHL games last season, posting an .885 save percentage and a 4-9-1 record. <\/p>\n<p>The Penguins acquired McGroarty from the Winnipeg Jets in the summer of 2024 in exchange for 2023 first-round pick <a href=\"http:\/\/www.puckpedia.com\/player\/brayden-yeager\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Brayden Yeager<\/a>. McGroarty, 21, played in eight NHL games, in two stints. <\/p>\n<p>He played in three games at the beginning of the season, then five games near the end of the campaign before he suffered a lower-body injury after blocking a shot.
