{"id":365,"date":"2025-10-15T00:30:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T00:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/365\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T00:30:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T00:30:16","slug":"police-chase-ends-with-crash-in-philadelphias-northern-liberties-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/365\/","title":{"rendered":"Police chase ends with crash in Philadelphia&#8217;s Northern Liberties neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A police chase ended with a crash and one person in custody in the <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/place\/northern-liberties-philadelphia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Northern Liberties;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Northern Liberties<\/a> section of <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/philadelphia\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Philadelphia;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Philadelphia <\/a>on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Just before noon, witnesses reported seeing several police vehicles chasing a black pickup truck down Spring Garden Street before it crashed into the back of the vehicle near North Orianna Street.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;You could see the truck come flying without a wheel, and he almost hit a cop standing on the corner,&#8221; said Mecca Peterson, who witnessed the chase. &#8220;People were concerned, people started running.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Radio dispatches from <a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/tag\/new-jersey-state-police\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:New Jersey State Police;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">New Jersey State Police<\/a> reveal the truck may have hit a police vehicle near Admiral Wilson Boulevard before taking off. Radio calls indicate the driver, with a flat tire, led police into Pennsylvania, where state police were waiting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As the truck turned onto Spring Garden Street in Philadelphia, witnesses say a police vehicle hit the rear of the truck, causing it to spin out and end the chase.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Witnesses also report seeing the driver holding a gun before he was taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;It could have been real bad.
