{"id":36609,"date":"2025-11-17T14:49:07","date_gmt":"2025-11-17T14:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/36609\/"},"modified":"2025-11-17T14:49:07","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T14:49:07","slug":"winds-fuel-multiple-fires-cause-damage-across-philadelphia-region-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/36609\/","title":{"rendered":"Winds fuel multiple fires, cause damage across Philadelphia region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Wind gusts continue across the Philadelphia region on Monday after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/fierce-winds-grip-philadelphia-holiday-033357689.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:blustery weekend.;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">blustery weekend.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Action Cam caught plenty of people braving the chill as they hit the ice at the Rothman Rink at Dilworth Park in Philadelphia&#8217;s Center City.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Vendors were also out at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/news\/articles\/made-philadelphia-holiday-market-open-130820338.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market made its return this weekend.;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market made its return this weekend.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As windy weather whipped through the area, downed trees and power lines sparked a fire in Drexel Hill, Delaware County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Firefighters were called to the Drexelbrook Apartments along Revere Road on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As windy weather whipped through the area, downed trees and power lines sparked a fire in Drexel Hill, Delaware County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The fire was quickly placed under control and officials did not report any injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Crews also responded to a fire that broke out in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The fire started in a two-car garage on the 4300 block of Lower Saucon Road in Lower Saucon Township at 1:30 a.m. on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">High winds then fanned the flames into a wooded area. Crews were able to get the fire under control and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">High winds also fueled a barn fire in Oxford, Chester County.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The two-alarm fire broke out around 6 a.m. on Monday in the 5000 block of Forge Road. So far, no injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Those winds that were whipping through our area on Sunday also toppled a tree in Yorklyn, Delaware.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It happened along the 800 block of Yorklyn Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The 70-foot-tall tree also brought down some power lines. About four dozen customers were impacted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Utility crews have since restored power.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Wind gusts continue across the Philadelphia region on Monday after a blustery weekend.
