ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Police in Allentown say a person is seriously injured after being shot in Allentown Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
Patrol\u00a0officers with the Allentown Police Department responded to the area of North Morris and West Allen Streets for a report of a shooting around 4:42 p.m., according to a news release from the Allentown Police Department.<\/p>\n
Officers found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the face and body, city police said.<\/p>\n
Officers rendered first aid, and the person was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to the news release.<\/p>\n
Police say the investigation is active and ongoing and there is no immediate threat or danger to the public at this time.<\/p>\n
“I heard three shots. I heard the sirens and then I thought oh this is close. And then I happened to look out the door and I saw the firetrucks,” a neighbor tells 69 News.<\/p>\n
“It’s very concerning. It’s really heartbreaking. A lot of families here. A lot of youth here,” says Jalen Richardson, the violence intervention and re-entry manager with Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n
He spoke with neighbors and says they are feeling a mix of emotions.<\/p>\n
“I mean some heartbroken, some not really know what’s going on, trying to figure it out,” says Richardson.<\/p>\n
