Erie Bank brought its financial reality fair to Erie High School on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The event was made to promote a real-life budgeting scenario for high school students and prepare them for real-world events.<\/p>\n

Erie community supports Operation Christmas Child for holidays <\/a><\/p>\n

There were 15 stations set up from car payments to personal care to simulate to students how to handle their money.<\/p>\n

Katie Jones is the regional president of Erie Banks; she said the goal was for students to walk away with practical skills for the future, while also having a bit of fun.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these things add up on a day-to-day basis, and I think it\u2019s really important for students to learn how to budget and how these things impact their budget. Every decision that we make financially will impact what they\u2019ve got left at the end of the month or what they\u2019re out at the end of the month,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWeird Al\u201d Yankovic coming to Erie in 2026 <\/a><\/p>\n

Jones said, along with routine stations like credit payments, there was also a station called the \u201cWhammy Wheel,\u201d where students will spin the wheel and see what random life event pops up to make them even more careful with their simulated money.<\/p>\n

The event was projected to draw nearly 400 students across three different sessions throughout the day<\/p>\n
