A Scranton man, faces charges after admitting to viewing child sexual abuse material on his phone, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
The Lackawanna District Attorney\u2019s office charged Brian Errigo, 33, of 1032 Quincy Ave., with multiple felonies, including possession of child pornography,<\/p>\n
According to the criminal complaint:<\/p>\n
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report of child sexual abuse material downloaded and\/or viewed on the MediaLab system which operates the KIK messaging app.<\/p>\n
The reports were first provided to the Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division and then forwarded to the Lackawanna County District Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
County investigators traced the child sexual abuse material downloaded back to Errigo.<\/p>\n
On Sept. 3, county investigators and members of the Northeast Computer Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at Errigo\u2019s Quincy Avenue residence.<\/p>\n
At that time, Errigo would not speak with law enforcement officers, saying he believed it would be best if he spoke with an attorney.<\/p>\n
Multiple devises were seized from Errigo\u2019s residence and brought to the Lackawanna County District Attorney\u2019s office for forensic analysis.<\/p>\n
On Nov. 13, Errigo voluntarily appeared at the district attorney\u2019s office, where he was read his Miranda rights and interviewed.<\/p>\n
During the interview, he admitted that the account associated with the investigation belonged to him and that he had viewed child sexual abuse material while using it.<\/p>\n
Errigo also faces felony charges of disseminating child abuse materials and criminal use of a cell phone.<\/p>\n
He is free on a $100,000 unsecured bail.<\/p>\n
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 3 before District Judge Sean Gallagher.<\/p>\n
