Erie County leaders are touting a successful end to their 2025 road work season.<\/p>\n
County Executive Mark Poloncarz says the county undertook $47.5 million worth of road projects this year.<\/p>\n
That includes a $5.5 million rehabilitation of Maryvale Drive in Cheektowaga, and more projects are already in the works.<\/p>\n
\u201c2025 continued my administration\u2019s history of significant investments in public infrastructure, improving our roads and bridges every year to give residents and motorists the best, safest routes we can. Over $47 million was invested this year alone, with 117 miles of roads and five bridges on this year\u2019s docket, and I thank Commissioner Geary and our Public Works team for the tremendous job they\u2019ve done,\u201d Poloncarz said in a statement. \u201cJust in the last five years alone we have invested over a quarter of a billion dollars in our roads and bridges, a testament to our ongoing commitment to getting this vital work done.\u201d<\/p>\n
“Over the next three years, thanks to the Bridge New York program, we’re going to be rebuilding 14 bridges,\u201d Commissioner of Public Works Bill Geary said. \u201cThose bridges cost anywhere from $2 million to up to $5 or $6 million.”<\/p>\n
