ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A 29-year-old Allentown man died after he was struck by a vehicle in the 2000 block of South Fourth Street, the county coroner said.<\/p>\n
It happened at 7:55 p.m. Friday \u201cfollowing an incident\u201d but Lehigh County Coroner Dan Buglio did not elaborate in a news release issued Saturday.<\/p>\n
Authorities identified the victim but are not immediately releasing his name. An autopsy is set for Monday.<\/p>\n
Allentown police Capt. Christopher Diehl said he could not release information on the striking vehicle \u2014 or whether the driver has been identified or is cooperating \u2014 because it remains “an active and ongoing” investigation.<\/p>\n
The victim was pronounced dead at 8:43 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Buglio said.<\/p>\n
Besides the coroner\u2019s office, Allentown police and the Lehigh County District Attorney\u2019s Office are investigating.<\/p>\n
