{"id":43253,"date":"2025-11-24T15:54:06","date_gmt":"2025-11-24T15:54:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/43253\/"},"modified":"2025-11-24T15:54:06","modified_gmt":"2025-11-24T15:54:06","slug":"pennsylvania-digital-service-director-appointed-state-cio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/43253\/","title":{"rendered":"Pennsylvania digital service director appointed state CIO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/statescoop.com\/bio\/bry-pardoe\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bry Pardoe<\/a>, who has served as executive director of Pennsylvania\u2019s Commonwealth Office of Digital Experience, or <a href=\"https:\/\/statescoop.com\/tag\/code-pa\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">CODE PA<\/a>, since its <a href=\"https:\/\/statescoop.com\/pennsylvania-code-pa-digital-services\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">formation<\/a> in April 2023, has been appointed to lead the state\u2019s tech efforts as its newest chief information officer. <\/p>\n<p>Pardoe was named to the CIO role in October, according to the Office of Administration\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/Bry%20Pardoe%20was%20named%20the%20Commonwealth%E2%80%99s%20Chief%20Information%20Officer%20in%20October%202025.%20In%20this%20role,%20she%20has%20overall%20responsibility%20for%20the%20management%20and%20operation%20of%20IT%20services%20for%20all%20executive%20agencies%20under%20the%20Governor%E2%80%99s%20jurisdiction.\" rel=\"nofollow\">website<\/a>, which shortly followed the <a href=\"https:\/\/statescoop.com\/amaya-capellan-pennsylvania-cio-cto-steps-down\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">departures<\/a> last month of former state CIO Amaya Capellan and Chief Technology Officer Brian Andrews, both of whom stepped down for unspecified reasons.\u00a0Pardoe has been serving in the CIO role in an acting capacity, according to her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/bryannapardoe\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p>As CODE PA\u2019s executive director, Pardoe led initiatives to improve the digital experiences residents have when interacting with the commonwealth, such as\u00a0the consolidation and redesign of <a href=\"https:\/\/statescoop.com\/pennsylvania-consolidates-online-presence-one-website\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">dozens of websites<\/a> into a single PA.gov website,\u00a0and\u00a0introducing <a href=\"https:\/\/statescoop.com\/pennsylvania-unnecessary-bureaucracy-technology-procurement\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">streamlined processes<\/a>\u00a0for procuring new technology products.<\/p>\n<p>Following Pardoe\u2019s promotion, Sara Hall, a senior product manager for PA.gov, was appointed to lead CODE PA as acting executive director, according to the state\u2019s website.<\/p>\n<p>The National Association of State Chief Information Officers <a href=\"https:\/\/statescoop.com\/nascio-2025-state-technology-innovator-award\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">honored Pardoe<\/a> last month with an award for her leadership and work to revamp the states\u2019 digital presence through the website redesign.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"author-card__image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/dY969nH0-1.jpg\" alt=\"Keely Quinlan\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\tWritten by Keely Quinlan<br \/>\n\t\t\tKeely Quinlan reports on privacy and digital government for StateScoop.
