PALMER TWP., Pa. \u2013 As the holiday shopping season kicks into high gear, individuals looking to score deals on clothing, home d\u00e9cor and other items will soon have a new destination to check out in Northampton County.<\/p>\n
Last Call Closeouts, offering a mix of deep discounts on brand-name overstock alongside unique estate furniture and other finds, is expected to open within the next few weeks at 3143 William Penn Highway in Palmer Township, owner Lisa Carvalho told 69 News.<\/p>\n
James Balliet and Benjamin Diaz of The James Balliet Property Group represented the landlord in the deal.<\/p>\n
Customers will be able to browse a rotating selection of high-quality liquidation items, including furniture, bedding, housewares, kitchenware, small appliances, children\u2019s toys, pet products, sporting good, tools and garden accessories and lawn items, Carvalho said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The store also will carry men\u2019s, women\u2019s and children\u2019s apparel, along with footwear and fashion accessories such as shoes, slippers and handbags.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really excited about this store because who doesn\u2019t like a deal?\u201d Carvalho said.<\/p>\n
\u201cSeriously, who wants to pay full price for anything? I know I get excited when I find a deal. It could be a discounted appliance that I need for the house or a fine piece of furniture at a fraction of its original full price.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carvalho is sourcing closeout and liquidation items from a variety of well-known department stores and retailers.<\/p>\n
Pieces come from companies\u2019 overstock, customer returns and shelf pulls, with the latter being items that are pulled from shelves to make way for new inventory.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll have extremely good deals,\u201d Carvalho said. \u201cWe\u2019ll have brand-new items that are 50% off the lowest price you can find elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carvalho, of Bethlehem, has a longtime passion for scouting out unique furniture while also scoring deals.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, she started purchasing liquidation pallets out of sheer curiosity.<\/p>\n
With help and inspiration from her husband, Francisco Carvalho, she took the leap into retail with her first brick-and-mortar store, expected to open in mid-December.<\/p>\n
\u201cI recently started getting into liquidation pallets because I have a curious mind,\u201d Carvalho said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wanted to know what are they all about, what are the items on them and what are the discounts. After I got a good handle on them, my husband said I need to put my passion and business sense together with my own store. He\u2019s my biggest supporter, and without him, this wouldn\u2019t be possible.\u201d<\/p>\n
The new store will be \u201cyour ultimate treasure hunt destination,\u201d offering bargains and savings on a constantly changing selection of high-quality items, according to a description on the business\u2019 website.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe purchase liquidation pallets from many large retailers that contain brand-name products in new and or like new condition for the savvy shopper that provides a constantly revolving treasure hunt of goods at clearance prices,\u201d the message continues.<\/p>\n
Shoppers will be able to browse furniture for the living room, bedroom, dining room and office, along with other home d\u00e9cor such as lamps and wall art.<\/p>\n
In addition to closeout and liquidation items, the new Palmer store will carry a variety of antique and one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, Lisa said.<\/p>\n
Shoppers also can expect a variety of unique pieces handmade by artisans.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll have closeout furniture plus antique and estate furniture, along with a little mix of some unusual artist pieces that I\u2019ve gotten from Connecticut, New York City and other places,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, we\u2019ll have a unique mix of one-of-a-kind, high-end furniture, including Italian leather, along with closeout furniture from different retailers.\u201d<\/p>\n
Last Call Closeouts\u2019 forthcoming store is tentatively set to operate Tuesday through Sunday, Lisa said.<\/p>\n
