I know I get excited when I find a deal. It could be a discounted appliance that I need for the house or a fine piece of furniture at a fraction of its original full price.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carvalho is sourcing closeout and liquidation items from a variety of well-known department stores and retailers.<\/p>\n<p>Pieces come from companies\u2019 overstock, customer returns and shelf pulls, with the latter being items that are pulled from shelves to make way for new inventory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll have extremely good deals,\u201d Carvalho said. \u201cWe\u2019ll have brand-new items that are 50% off the lowest price you can find elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Carvalho, of Bethlehem, has a longtime passion for scouting out unique furniture while also scoring deals.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, she started purchasing liquidation pallets out of sheer curiosity.<\/p>\n<p>With help and inspiration from her husband, Francisco Carvalho, she took the leap into retail with her first brick-and-mortar store, expected to open in mid-December.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI recently started getting into liquidation pallets because I have a curious mind,\u201d Carvalho said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to know what are they all about, what are the items on them and what are the discounts. After I got a good handle on them, my husband said I need to put my passion and business sense together with my own store.
