{"id":45197,"date":"2025-11-26T13:13:21","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T13:13:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/45197\/"},"modified":"2025-11-26T13:13:21","modified_gmt":"2025-11-26T13:13:21","slug":"easton-man-gets-prison-in-dui-crash-that-killed-passenger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/45197\/","title":{"rendered":"Easton man gets prison in DUI crash that killed passenger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An Easton man will spend up to 10 years in prison for a DUI crash earlier this year that <a href=\"http:\/\/mcall.com\/2025\/01\/06\/coroner-identifies-easton-woman-killed-in-single-vehicle-crash\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">killed his passenger.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Randy Donato, 32, was sentenced Tuesday to four to 10 years in prison for the Jan. 5 crash that killed Nicole Guzman, 35, in Bethlehem Township, according to Northampton County District Attorney Stephen Baratta. Donato pleaded guilty in September to homicide by vehicle while DUI and DUI.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/2025\/02\/21\/bethlhem-township-fatal-charges\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Township police said Donato had a blood alcohol of 0.208%<\/a>, more than twice the legal threshold for drunk driving.<\/p>\n<p>He crashed his car into a tree line on the north side of William Penn Highway. Guzman, of Easton, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, the DA said in a news release.
