One of five people charged in a fatal shooting on an Allentown basketball court has been sentenced to state prison, according to a news release from Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Angel Martinez-Velez, 25, of Allentown, was shot numerous times while playing basketball June 1, 2024, at Fountain Park on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.<\/p>\n

Carlos Landesta-Agramonte, 20, also of Allentown, pleaded guilty in September to third-degree murder and conspiracy. Lehigh County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Caffrey on Tuesday sentenced Landesta-Agramonte to serve 20 to 40 years in prison. <\/p>\n

A jury last month convicted his co-defendant Grelvis Estevez Cabrera of all charges, including homicide, first-degree murder and related counts, Holihan\u2019s office said. Estevez Cabrera, 29, faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole and is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 13, 2026, before Caffrey.<\/p>\n

The additional suspects charged in the killing are Alfeni Romero-Taveras, 23; Joel Garcia Paulino, 22; and 23-year-old Wilmer Esequiel Marte-Tavarez \u2014 all are awaiting trial, according to the district attorney\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

Romero-Taveras was just arrested last month<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Holihan said investigators relied on<\/a> surveillance video, license plate readers, social media sources, input from witnesses and participation from the community in making the arrests.<\/p>\n

The case was investigated by Allentown Police Detective Theodore Kiskeravage and Lehigh County Homicide Task Force Detective Moses Miller, and the charges are being prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Ramma R.
