In December, the Parkland Community Library is excited to pivot from its regular weekly story times to host a series of enchanting themed events.<\/p>\n
The month is all about creativity and joy, featuring a delightful array of stories, lively songs, captivating music, energetic dancing and engaging crafts that will ignite the imagination of both children and parents alike.<\/p>\n
\u00b7Dec. 4 Krampus: Step into the world of winter folklore with this special story time celebrating the legends that inspired many holiday traditions.<\/p>\n
Learn about holiday folklore as you explore the magical side of the season, discovering Krampus, a mythical creature from European winter stories that reminds children to behave well.<\/p>\n
\u00b7Dec. 13 Hanukkah: Celebrate the Festival of Lights. They will explore hope, kindness and light through menorahs, dreidels and family fun. Perfect for children of all backgrounds.<\/p>\n
\u00b7Dec. 16 Pajama Las Posadas: Get cozy in pajamas for a special story time about Mexican and Latin American holiday celebration. Relax with pajamas, blankets and stuffed animals during bedtime stories. Best for ages 3-5.<\/p>\n
\u00b7Dec. 19 Gingerbread: Celebrate the holiday season with the library\u2019s gingerbread story time.<\/p>\n
Enjoy Christmas stories, lively songs and a gingerbread craft to spark creativity.<\/p>\n

\u00b7Dec. 27 Baby Massage: Join Whitney of Mama Aura Wellness for a bonding experience with nurturing touch for babies eight weeks through crawling.<\/p>\n
A baby massage story activates senses and explores age-appropriate literature with a caregiver.<\/p>\n
\u00b7Dec. 30 New Year\u2019s Eve Eve: Celebrate New Year\u2019s Eve a day early with the library\u2019s Eve Eve event.<\/p>\n
Families can enjoy the countdown without staying up late, offering a fun, creative year-end celebration.<\/p>\n

These story times meet PA Forward Gold Star criteria for basic literacy.<\/p>\n
