SALISBURY TWP., Pa. \u2013 Fans of the Baconator, Dave\u2019s Triple and Frosty have one less restaurant to visit in the Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n

A location of Wendy’s, the fast-food chain known for its made-to-order square hamburgers, has closed at 3390 Lehigh St. in Salisbury Township.<\/p>\n

A Wendy\u2019s spokesperson did not immediately return a message seeking more information, including a reason for the restaurant\u2019s closure.<\/p>\n

Signage on the restaurant\u2019s door and drive-thru window notes that the location is closed and advises customers to visit a nearby Wendy\u2019s location at 1980 S. Fourth St. in Allentown.<\/p>\n

Additional signage indicates that the 3,100-square-foot, quick-service restaurant building is available for lease.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Wendy\u2019s said it intends to close hundreds of U.S. restaurants in the coming months as revenue and profits drop, with the company citing cutbacks by lower-income consumers that it expects will continue through the end of the year, according to a CBS News article<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On an investor call, Ken Cook, Wendy’s interim CEO, didn’t detail the precise number or locations of restaurants that it plans to close, but he noted that a \u201cmid-single digit percentage\u201d of its more than 6,000 U.S. locations, or approximately 300 restaurants, could shutter, the article states.<\/p>\n

Cook added that closures of underperforming restaurants are expected to boost traffic and profitability at remaining Wendy\u2019s locations, according to the report.<\/p>\n

Wendy’s, founded in 1969 by Dave Thomas in Columbus, Ohio, is best known for its made-to-order square hamburgers using fresh, never-frozen beef, freshly-prepared salads with hand-chopped lettuce, and other signature items like chili, baked potatoes and the Frosty dessert, according to a corporate overview.<\/p>\n

Breakfast options, including the Breakfast Baconator, homestyle French toast sticks and various egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches on biscuits, croissants and English muffins, are available in the morning.<\/p>\n

“Dave built his business on the premise, \u201cQuality is our Recipe,\u201d which remains the guidepost of the Wendy\u2019s system,” the overview continues.<\/p>\n

Wendy\u2019s and its franchisees employ hundreds of thousands of people at approximately 7,000 restaurants worldwide.<\/p>\n

On Nov. 7, The Wendy’s Company announced unaudited third quarter 2025 results, which included global systemwide sales of $3.5 billion, a decrease of 2.6%.<\/p>\n

The company opened 54 new restaurants, bringing total additions to 172 through the end of the third quarter.<\/p>\n

More than a dozen Wendy\u2019s locations operate throughout the Lehigh Valley region.<\/p>\n
