BETHLEHEM, Pa. – While everyone\u2019s hunting for those Black Friday deals, local shops are already gearing up for their big moment during Small Business Saturday.<\/p>\n
69 News Reporter Sydney Kay has more with what some hometown stores in Lehigh County have planned and how it is critical for their business.<\/p>\n
Hard at work behind the counter, 8-year-old Raegan is eager to welcome guests into Let\u2019s Go Coffee Company in Emmaus<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat I love about working here is I\u2019ve made new friends here and I love meeting new customers,\u201d said Raegan Siess, a self-proclaimed \u2018Co-Boss\u2019 at the shop.<\/p>\n She gets the love for the job from her mom, Mandy Siess, who opened the cafe a year ago.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople that come into your shop tend to get to know your family, they get to see your family grow, your employees, anybody that\u2019s also local here,\u201d Mandy Siess said.<\/p>\n The local shop is one of millions ready for the holiday rush on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.<\/p>\n \u201cSmall Business Saturday creates a sense of community by bringing people together which is really great to see,\u201d said Jessica O\u2019Donnell-Gower with the Greater LV Chamber of Commerce<\/a>.<\/p>\n Design Director of RE:Find in Allentown<\/a> Jon Clark says it\u2019s become a real introduction into the season.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople are here with family over Thanksgiving and they like to go out with family and so it\u2019s a nice time to explore what\u2019s around, it\u2019s a nice time to begin shopping for whatever you\u2019re shopping for,\u201d said Clark.<\/p>\n The designated day highlights the connections of shopping small, such as finding meaningful trinkets inside Kaleidoscope Collective in Bethlehem<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you get to know the person that\u2019s created or made or curated that item that you\u2019re purchasing, I think it means a little bit more,\u201d Melis Carroll said, the owner of Kaleidoscope Collective.<\/p>\n \u201cThey truly have magical gifts that are one-of-a-kind that no one is going to get a replica of,\u201d Tammy Wendling, with the Greater LV Chamber of Commerce, said.<\/p>\n
