Upper Darby High School received a threat Friday that the school would be bombed by drones.<\/p>\n

District Superintendent Dr. Dan McGarry, in a notice sent to families, said Upper Darby police received a tip indicating a bomb threat to the outside of the building.<\/p>\n

The threat actually indicated that the school would be bombed by drones.<\/p>\n

The school went into a lock-in out of an abundance of caution in coordination with the Upper Darby police, who responded to the high school and also provided drone coverage.<\/p>\n

Police confirmed there was no threat the outside of the building, at which time the school moved into a lockout and then returned to regular school operations for the rest of the day.<\/p>\n

The school was also a victim of a threat Sept. 19 that police for the report of bomb. It also turned out to be unfounded.<\/a><\/p>\n

McGarry said while the anonymous threats continue to disrupt the learning environment for students, the district will continue to treat all threats seriously and follow emergency procedures.<\/p>\n
