PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania (WPVI) — When artist Terrence L. Gore<\/a> was diagnosed with HIV in 2006, his body started to fail him. Yet, he was determined to survive and tell his own story.<\/p>\n

To this day, he refuses to give up, and creates amazing art to illustrate the bigger picture.<\/p>\n

He recently opened an exhibit titled, ‘Back to My Roots,’ located at Bartram’s Garden.<\/p>\n

The garden has been dear to him since childhood, having grown up in the area.<\/p>\n

Over the past two decades, Gore has used found materials, many from Bartram’s Garden, to create works of art inspired by his life experiences.<\/p>\n

For example, one illustration is framed using fallen branches. In another piece, a gentleman’s mustache is made from feathers.<\/p>\n

The exhibit will only be open until December 6, 2025. Guests may contact Bartram’s Garden and ask for Shanna Mitchell for private viewing opportunities. Their email is info@bartramsgarden.org and phone number is (215) 729-5281.<\/p>\n

The exhibit will have an open house at Bartram’s Garden’s ‘Handmade Holidays’<\/a> event on Saturday, December 6, 2025.<\/p>\n
