Here’s more on the weather: Snow will impact commute in Washington County, MD, Franklin County, PA<\/a><\/p>\n A Pennsylvania Department of Transportation traffic cam shows vehicles traveling in the area of Exit 5 of Interstate 81 at Route 16 near Greencastle in Franklin County on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, when the speed limit was reduced to 45 mph due to the winter storm.<\/p>\n Commercial vehicles must travel in the right lane on I-81.<\/p>\n Vehicle restrictions and speed reductions are in place on other major roads throughout the state due to the winter storm.<\/p>\n \u201cAlthough PennDOT crews have been treating roadways, the department\u2019s primary goal is to keep roads passable, and they will not completely free of ice and snow,\u201d a news release from PennDOT said. \u201cPennDOT will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are clear.”<\/p>\n PennDOT is encouraging people to avoid travel if they can and advises drivers to use caution if they must be on the road.<\/p>\n \u201cMotorists should always allow plenty of space when driving near plow trucks,\u201d the news release continued. \u201cAlso, for their own safety and the safety of plow operators, motorists should never attempt to pass a truck while it is plowing or spreading winter materials.\u201d<\/p>\n Road conditions and traffic cameras can be accessed at www.511PA.com<\/a><\/p>\n Waynesboro schools closed<\/p>\n The Waynesboro Area School District also closed for a snow day on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
