{"id":50194,"date":"2025-12-02T17:00:06","date_gmt":"2025-12-02T17:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/50194\/"},"modified":"2025-12-02T17:00:06","modified_gmt":"2025-12-02T17:00:06","slug":"leapfrog-awards-grades-in-hospital-safety-in-pittsburgh-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/50194\/","title":{"rendered":"Leapfrog awards grades in hospital safety in Pittsburgh \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Several Pittsburgh-region hospitals received \u201cA\u201d grades in patient safety in the latest Leapfrog ratings just released.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The grades by the nonprofit Leapfrog Group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/pittsburgh\/news\/2025\/05\/01\/leapfrog-group-releases-new-hospital-safety-scores.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">focus on safety for patients in medical errors, accidents, injuries and infections, incidents<\/a> that can cause up to 250,000 deaths a year at the nation\u2019s hospitals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Among the hospitals receiving straight-A grades this year in Pennsylvania are UPMC Passavant, UPMC Passavant-Cranberry, UPMC St. Margaret and AHN Grove City.
