(WBRE\/WYOU) \u2014 A New York man has been charged with an identity theft scheme where he allegedly placed more than 200 orders for expensive liquor in numerous Pennsylvania counties.<\/p>\n

Attorney General Dave Sunday and the Pennsylvania State Police stated that 26-year-old Eugene Antwi of Brooklyn has been charged with an alleged identity theft scheme.<\/p>\n

Investigators stated Antwi used falsified identities and stolen credit and debit cards to place more than 200 online orders, totaling more than $65,000. Antwi then picked up the orders at stores in 21 PA counties, as stated in the release.<\/p>\n

Antwi allegedly committed the scheme between August 2023 and September 2024.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis defendant went to great lengths to steal from unsuspecting Pennsylvanians and defraud the Liquor Control Board, which oversees legal purchases of alcohol in the Commonwealth,\u201d Attorney General Sunday said.<\/p>\n

Antwi was arrested in New York and is charged with identity theft, access device fraud, theft by deception, forgery, and related offenses.<\/p>\n

He will be arraigned on the charges in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
