PITTSTON, LUZERNE CO. (WOLF) \u2014 The Knights of Columbus in Pittston are making sure families can bundle up before winter gets worse.<\/p>\n
Councils 372 and 16071 are teaming up to host a free coat giveaway this Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at 55 South Main Street.<\/p>\n
Thursday, volunteers were busy preparing hundreds of coats, hoping to help anyone who needs a little extra warmth this season.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a time where, just as today, it\u2019s freezing out, so it\u2019s only going to get worse. There are less fortunate people that just need a helping hand. We just want to make sure that we can do our best for the community and the surrounding communities to basically help them stay warm in the winter,” said Phil Bendsen, organizer of Knights of Columbus Council 372.<\/p>\n
The groups have more than 200 coats ready to give out to children and teens at no cost.<\/p>\n
