It\u2019s never a great idea to drive with a suspended license. In fact, it\u2019s illegal. It is made all the worse if you\u2019re also driving a stolen vehicle. That\u2019s just what the\u00a0Upper Darby Police Department in Delaware County\u00a0reported to be the case during a recent incident in the township.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Nov. 10, around 1:38 a.m., Upper Darby Township police were on patrol in the area of the\u00a0Sunoco gas station\u00a0on Marshall Road in\u00a0Delaware County. <\/p>\n

Police said they observed a white Nissan Altima with a Pennsylvania license plate to be sitting in the station\u2019s parking lot.<\/p>\n

After a check through the NCIC database, police said that the Nissan was reported stolen out of\u00a0Bristol Township.<\/p>\n

Police said that they then observed Brandy Nicole Weldon, 46, Upper Darby, enter the vehicle.<\/p>\n

Police said that they activated emergency lights on the patrol car and initiated a traffic stop of the white car.<\/p>\n

During the stop, Weldon was placed into custody and transported to Upper Darby Police Headquarters, police said.<\/p>\n

Police said, upon further investigation, Weldon was also found to be driving while having a license suspended. Bristol Township police also confirmed that the vehicle was reported as stolen.<\/p>\n

Weldon is charged with receiving stolen property, as well as a driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked. Weldon was placed in\u00a0Delaware County Jail after her arrest. She was released on a surety bond on $25,000 bail placed through a professional bondsman on Nov. 12.<\/p>\n
