Pennsylvania is investing $3 million to provide free period products in schools statewide.<\/p>\n

This funding, part of Governor Josh Shapiro\u2019s 2025-26 budget, builds on last year\u2019s $3 million investment, bringing the total to $6 million over two years.<\/p>\n

The initiative ensures students in all public school districts, charter schools, and technical centers have access to essential hygiene products. First Lady Lori Shapiro emphasized that period products are a basic necessity, helping girls focus on learning without added stress.<\/p>\n

Schools will receive funding based on enrollment, at $1.75 per student, to cover purchases through June 2026. No applications are required, and schools are encouraged to prioritize privacy and accessibility.<\/p>\n

Health Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen says this investment supports a positive, less stressful school experience for girls across Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
