ALLENTOWN, Pa. \u2013 A prominent Lehigh Valley area credit union will open a new location in an Allentown shopping center in the new year.<\/p>\n
A new location of First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union will open in early 2026 in the Allentown Commons shopping center on Hanover Avenue, according to Jen Weaver, First Commonwealth\u2019s vice president of marketing and corporate communications.<\/p>\n

The Allentown Commons shopping center is located on Hanover Avenue in Allentown.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The new financial center will occupy a renovated end unit that previously housed a 7-Eleven convenience store, which closed in 2018.<\/p>\n
First Commonwealth, headquartered in Lower Macungie Township, serves Pennsylvania and New Jersey with 14 locations and a top-tier digital banking experience.<\/p>\n
Financial centers operate in Lehigh, Northampton, Berks and Carbon counties in Pennsylvania and Warren County in New Jersey.<\/p>\n
First Commonwealth serves more than 95,000 members and 2,400 companies.<\/p>\n

First Commonwealth continues to expand its footprint, with the credit union\u2019s newest financial center having opened in July at 1235 Blakeslee Blvd. Dr. East in Mahoning Township, just outside Lehighton.<\/p>\n
In First Commonwealth\u2019s annual report 2024, William Ehritz, chairman of First Commonwealth\u2019s Board of Directors, and Donna LoStocco, president and CEO of First Commonwealth, commented on the \u201cexciting strides\u201d being made in terms of enhancing the credit union\u2019s footprint.<\/p>\n
Ehritz and LoStocco referenced the new 2,600-square-foot Lehighton area facility, as well as the credit union\u2019s financial center on Union Boulevard in Allentown, which \u201cwill relocate to a more convenient location, offering easier access and an improved member experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
