Lackawanna Trail has a record of 27-2 in the last three regular seasons. Lackawanna Trail clinched a spot in the District 2-11 Class 1A subregional playoffs. Holy Cross needs a win to stay in contention for a playoff berth.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>3-LAKELAND (7-1) AT WEST SCRANTON (2-6)<\/p>\n<p>When: Friday, 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Scranton Veterans Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Lakeland, 25-18 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Lakeland leads the series, 15-12. Both programs have more than 400 wins in their histories, with West Scranton having 420 and Lakeland having 446. Lakeland is trying to secure the No. 1 seed for the District 2 Class 2A playoffs. West Scranton needs a win to maintain a chance at making the District 2 Class 5A playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>OLD FORGE (2-6) AT 5-RIVERSIDE (7-1)<\/p>\n<p>When: Friday, 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Riverside Veterans Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Riverside, 28-6 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: This is the renewal of the Triboro Rivalry game. Old Forge leads the series, 41-33-4. Riverside won 20 of its last 23 games. Riverside won its last five games by an average margin of 48.8 points per game. Old Forge looks to make a push to qualify for the District 2-11 Class 1A subregional playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>JERSEY SHORE (6-2) AT 7-SCRANTON PREP (4-4)<\/p>\n<p>When: Friday, 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Dunmore Veterans Memorial Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Scranton Prep, 27-19 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Jersey Shore, which was ranked in the state Class 4A top 10 this season, has wins over Delaware Valley, 49-42, and Dallas, 27-7, this season. Jersey Shore lost to Shamokin, 43-42, in two overtimes and 52-7 to Hollidaysburg. Jersey Shore defeated Penn Wood, 44-20, last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>8-DUNMORE (5-3) AT HONESDALE (3-5)<\/p>\n<p>When: Friday, 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Honesdale HS Athletic Complex.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Honesdale, 49-20 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Honesdale\u2019s win last season was its first over the Bucks since 1997. Dunmore leads the series, 15-3. Dunmore is battling for a top seed and a home game in the District 2 Class 2A playoffs. Honesdale needs a win to stay in contention for the District 2 Class 4A playoffs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>9-VALLEY VIEW (4-4) AT WYOMING VALLEY WEST (1-7)<\/p>\n<p>When: Friday, 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Spartan Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Valley View, 35-10 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Valley View looks to secure the No. 2 seed for the District 2 Class 4A playoffs. Wyoming Valley West lost to LFC members Scranton, 45-7, and North Pocono, 48-0, earlier this season. Wyoming Valley West lost seven consecutive games to LFC opponents.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PITTSTON AREA (7-1) AT 10-WALLENPAUPACK (3-5)<\/p>\n<p>When: Friday, 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Wallenpaupack HS Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Wallenpaupack, 22-10 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Pittston Area leads the series, 3-2. Pittston Area holds the No. 1 seed for the District 2 Class 5A playoffs and has a win over Mid Valley and a loss to North Pocono in games against LFC opponents this year. Wallenpaupack lost to Abington Heights last week and needs a win to make a push toward the top four in the District 2 Class 4A power rating standings.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>WESTERN WAYNE (2-6) AT MID VALLEY (3-5)<\/p>\n<p>When: Friday, 7 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Spartan Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Mid Valley, 22-10 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Western Wayne and Mid Valley shared the LFC Division II championship last season. Mid Valley leads the series, 21-7. Western Wayne lost to Lakeland, 40-14, last week. Mid Valley lost to Scranton Prep, 35-0, and is sixth in the District 2 Class 3A power rating standings. Four teams qualify for the postseason in Class 3A.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>CARBONDALE AREA (4-4) AT SUSQUEHANNA (0-8)<\/p>\n<p>When: Saturday, 1 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: William Emminger Memorial Field.<\/p>\n<p>Last: Carbondale Area, 22-12 (2024).<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Carbondale Area leads the series, 31-25-1. Carbondale Area looks to climb into the top four and qualify for the District 2 Class 3A playoffs. Susquehanna lost to Lackawanna Trail, 54-14, and Carbondale Area lost to Riverside, 55-7, in Week 7.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>MONTROSE (2-6) AT RENAISSANCE ACADEMY (0-8)<\/p>\n<p>When: Saturday, 1 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where: Great Valley High School.<\/p>\n<p>Last: First meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The buzz: Renaissance Academy is a charter school in Phoenixville that opened in the 2000-01 school year. The football program competes in the Bicentennial Conference and is a PIAA Class 1A program with a male enrollment of 120. Both teams lost to Columbia-Montour Vo-Tech.
