{"id":5426,"date":"2025-10-17T07:45:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T07:45:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/5426\/"},"modified":"2025-10-17T07:45:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T07:45:16","slug":"western-pennsylvania-doctor-arrested-in-ohio-human-trafficking-sting-wpxi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/5426\/","title":{"rendered":"Western Pennsylvania doctor arrested in Ohio human trafficking sting \u2013 WPXI"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio \u2014 A Western Pennsylvania doctor has been arrested in Ohio as part of a human trafficking sting, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Dr. Robert Zewe, Jr., 50, of Erie, faces multiple charges after allegedly traveling to Ohio to engage in illegal activities with a minor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Zewe has been charged with compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony; possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony and engaging in prostitution, a misdemeanor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Zewe was a doctor at Penn Highlands Mon Valley in Monongahela. A hospital spokesperson said that he is no longer employed there. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">Undercover agents with the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force arrested Zewe on Friday in the Youngstown area. He\u2019s now out on bond. <\/p>\n<p class=\"default__StyledText-sc-tl066j-0 gJuxXh body-paragraph\">The arrest occurred after Zewe allegedly agreed to pay for sex with a fictitious underage girl and her mother.
