Hundreds of \u201cNo Kings\u201d demonstrations in protest of President Donald Trump will be held Saturday across the country, including seven in Northeast Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n
Demonstrations are planned for:<\/p>\n
Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Public Square.
\nScranton, Lackawanna County from 2 to 5 p.m. on Courthouse Square, 200 N. Washington Ave.
\nTunkhannock, Wyoming County from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at Feed Mill Park, 2 Bridge St.
\nMontrose, Susquehanna County from 1 to 3 p.m. on the Green in Montrose, 31 Lake Ave.
\nPottsville, Schuylkill County from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 300 W. Market St.
\nHonesdale, Wayne County, from noon to 2 p.m., at 640 Main St.
\nMilford, Pike County, from 2 to 4 pm. at 412 Broad St.<\/p>\n
The demonstrations, scheduled for Saturday, follow similar protests against the president and his administration that were held in June.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt our October 18th action, we\u2019ll use spooky protest art to show what\u2019s at stake,\u201d organizers wrote on the No Kings website. \u201cBring tombstones, signs, or costumes to call out what billionaires are trying to kill: Medicaid, SNAP, Checks and Balances, our Constitution, Due Process, and the basic dignity of Working People.\u201c<\/p>\n
More than 100 political groups, including the ACLU, 50501 Movement and the League of Women Voters have partnered for the upcoming demonstrations.<\/p>\n
The first No Kings protests were held in June and similar nationwide Not My Presidents Day demonstrations were held in February to coincide with the Presidents Day holiday.<\/p>\n
