{"id":55333,"date":"2025-12-08T17:22:07","date_gmt":"2025-12-08T17:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/55333\/"},"modified":"2025-12-08T17:22:07","modified_gmt":"2025-12-08T17:22:07","slug":"5-families-displaced-after-5-homes-catch-on-fire-in-allentown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-pa\/55333\/","title":{"rendered":"5 families displaced after 5 homes catch on fire in Allentown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"F67J7R2RYJCQBGIKAK2ULRKIQI\">Five families were displaced Saturday after five homes caught fire in Allentown, according to a news release from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allentownpa.gov\/en-us\/Government\/Departments\/Fire-Emergency-Services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.allentownpa.gov\/en-us\/Government\/Departments\/Fire-Emergency-Services\">city fire captain<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"IXA5VXR4S5G6BL6AOYBOQQX7HA\">The three-alarm fire started around 9:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Allen Street, according to Captain Jon Hammel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"I25J5CTQRBC5ZJ2F54T47VAKQQ\">The American Red Cross assisted 15 adults and eight children. They stayed in a LANTA bus to keep warm, the release says.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"GKDEA2FWGJFSHKBCWDL7NR6HHA\">The cause of the fire is under investigation by the city fire marshal division.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"PZR6MK6MS5GQRMFWX7QJS5NHYI\">The streets department assisted fire police with barricades.
