READING, Pa.\u00a0\u2013 As night settled in, the Reading Public Museum transformed into an immersive Halloween adventure.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“This is ‘Museum After Dark.’ It’s the first time we’ve done a program like this,” said Becky Ruth, coordinator of education events and education outreach.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It was an experience full of eerie enchantment, creative activities and a chance to dress up.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Tonight is ‘Spooky Night Out.’ So, we have some monster mud sculptures, we have creature portraits.” Ruth said. “We have oracle readings, we have a photo spot, we have kettle corn being sold, wine being sold, pizza\u00a0\u2014 all that good stuff.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It’s different. There are art things to do, and there’s stuff to take home, which is fun. It’s really cute,” said Sarah Foster, Reading.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The museum, known for its kids’ friendly activities, is giving adults a chance to appreciate art for themselves.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“We do a lot of kids programs. We do stuff during working hours,” Ruth said. “So, we wanted to have a fun night out for just adults.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It’s nice because I get a chance to actually look at things without chasing a 2-year-old around,” said Jade McCauley, Pottstown.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It’s a chance for people to fall in love with the best-kept treasures of Reading.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It’s fun to have, like, activities that the community can do, that doesn’t have to be like, outrageous or super expensive, just something small and fun,” Foster said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The museum is set to host another one of these events soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n
