PennDOT maintenance crews <\/a>will conduct road work at 20 locations across Lehigh County<\/a> this week, with projects ranging from bridge repairs to crack sealing operations.<\/p>\n

The most extensive work will affect Interstate 78, where pothole patching is taking place between Exit 49 at Route 100 and the Northampton County line from Monday, Dec. 8 through Saturday, Dec. 13. Lane restrictions in both directions will be in effect from 8 p.m. to midnight.<\/p>\n

Additional I-78 work is scheduled Dec. 11 in Upper Macungie Township, where crews will conduct inspections between Exit 45 at Route 863 and the Berks County line, requiring daytime lane restrictions from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.<\/p>\n

Nighttime utility work will affect Route 22 in Hanover Township between Fullerton Avenue and Airport Road from Dec. 11 through Dec. 12. PPL will conduct utility line work from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., with shoulder closures and possible lane closures expected in both directions. Motorists should expect delays.<\/p>\n

Bridge repair projects will take place on Limeport Pike in Upper Saucon Township between Spinnerstown Road and Elementary Road from Dec. 8 to Dec. 9, with lane restrictions and flagging from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A second bridge repair on Ziegels Church Road in Weisenberg Township between Old Route 22 and Seipstown Road is scheduled Dec. 10 through Dec. 12, with no traffic restrictions anticipated.<\/p>\n

Crack sealing operations will affect multiple roadways throughout the county. The longest project will run along Route 29 from the Berks County line to South Cedar Crest Boulevard in Upper Milford and Emmaus from Dec. 8 through Dec. 12. Other crack sealing work is scheduled on Sell Road in Heidelberg Township, Northwest Road and Long Court in Heidelberg Township, and various roads in Macungie Borough, Milford, Lower Macungie Township, Upper Milford, Lowhill Township, and Upper Macungie Township.<\/p>\n

Brush cutting projects will occur on Church Street in Washington Township, the Route 378 ramp at Eighth Avenue in Bethlehem, and Route 222 North in Upper Macungie Township between Cetronia Road and Route 100.<\/p>\n

Most daytime work will take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain is not expected to cause delays to any scheduled projects.<\/p>\n
