A remarkable gift can arrive in an unremarkable package. One did in Bethlehem.\u00a0We don\u2019t often think of Paul in our Christmas reflections, yet we should. His words in Philippians 2:5-11 (NIV) are the Bible\u2019s most eloquent summary of the Bethlehem promise:<\/p>\n

\u201cWho being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God\u2026but rather he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness, and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death\u2014even death on a cross.\u00a0Therefore, God called him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow\u2026and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father!\u201d<\/p>\n
