PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG\/WECP) – The 13th Annual Bethlehem Christmas Village opened Tuesday at Capt. Anderson\u2019s Marina. Transforming the parking lot into a recreation of ancient Bethlehem. <\/p>\n
The free, family-friendly event runs December 10-13 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the marina parking lot. Guests can walk the path of Mary, Joseph, and Isaiah as they share the news of the coming Christ child and search for a place to rest.<\/p>\n
The event features a live nativity and petting zoo with pony rides. Two local school choirs will perform each night. A \u201cTax Collector\u201d booth will collect donations benefiting a different local charity each night.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis event is very special compared to other Christmas events because we do not have a Santa Claus here, so the entire purpose of this is to celebrate the reason for the season, Jesus Christ,\u201d said Chelsea Adami, Capt. Anderson\u2019s marketing director. \u201cWe are excited, everybody gets excited for the live nativity part when they open that curtain, and Jesus is born, it\u2019s just a lot of fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event includes multiple vendors and allows families to experience the Christmas story surrounded by lights, music, and community spirit on the waterfront.<\/p>\n
