Morgan Sewack leads with gratitude, works with purpose, and treats people with kindness and she shows up everyday with this philosophy in her life as the marketing and communications specialist and adjunct lecturer of corporate communication at Penn State Scranton.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe gratitude keeps you grounded, purpose keeps you moving forward, and kindness creates the type of environment where people feel valued and willing to grow,\u201d she explains.<\/p>\n
As the specialist at Penn State Scranton, Sewack says she has the privilege of sharing the Penn State story by highlighting its students, faculty, staff, and alumni.<\/p>\n
She manages the campus\u2019s social media presence through photography and videography, writes news and feature stories for the website, and develops content that blends visual and written storytelling to build connection, inspire engagement, and strengthen the campus\u2019 identity.<\/p>\n
She also serves as secretary for Penn State Scranton\u2019s staff advisory council, and strives to ensure the organization\u2019s documentation is accurate and accessible.<\/p>\n
She recently led the redesign of the staff advisory council website to improve usability and accessibility for campus employees. In addition to her full-time role, she teaches a mass communications course to students across various stages of their academic journey.<\/p>\n
Having earned her bachelor\u2019s degree in corporate communication with a minor in business administration from Penn State Scranton, she served as president of the Corporate Communication Club; vice-president of the Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society, and head peer mentor for the First-Year Seminar program.<\/p>\n
Following an internship in the office of strategic communications, she knew what her career goal would be. Upon graduation she was hired full-time at Penn State Scranton in the very same office where she interned.<\/p>\n
Sewack completed a master of professional studies in strategic communications from Penn State. She served as a program liaison, welcoming incoming students and facilitating communication and community-building within the MPS Strategic Communications program.<\/p>\n
Sewack is incredibly fortunate to have the unwavering support and mentorship of her parents, Mike and Lori Sewack; her brother, Michael Sewack Jr.; and her grandparents, Kay and the late George \u201cFatso\u201d Sewack who have been her foundation in her life from hard work and selflessness to staying grounded and taking pride in what she does.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir influence is present in everything I do, and I am beyond grateful to have grown up in a family that celebrates every accomplishment, big or small, and supports my dreams with their whole hearts,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n
Sewack is an alumna of Leadership Lackawanna\u2019s Core and Welcome Scranton programs, where she helped to transform two unused rooms at the Scranton Counseling Center into meditation spaces for adolescents and adults.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m proud to have helped create something that will serve the community for years to come. Leadership Lackawanna\u2019s programs further deepened my love and appreciation for the area I grew up in\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
