PITTSBURGH \u2014 McDonald\u2019s owner-operators across western Pennsylvania and the Ohio Valley will raise money for local high school athletic programs during the chain\u2019s first High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day on Oct. 23.<\/p>\n
Participating restaurants in the Erie, Pittsburgh, Johnstown-Altoona, Wheeling-Steubenville and Clarksburg areas will donate 10 percent of all sales made through the McDonald\u2019s app that day to selected high schools in their communities. A total of 206 schools across the region will benefit, each receiving at least $250.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are proud to have this partnership with our local schools,\u201d said Twila Mezan, a McDonald\u2019s owner-operator in Pittsburgh. \u201cOur hope is that local communities come out and support their schools and help make High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day a success throughout the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
This is the first year Pennsylvania schools have participated in the initiative.<\/p>\n
Customers can participate by ordering through the McDonald\u2019s app, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.<\/p>\n
