A 25-year-old Scranton man faces charges after police said he slashed a man with a box cutter in the city early Sunday morning.<\/p>\n
Officers responded to Geisinger Community Medical Center Sunday around 2:18 a.m. for a report of a victim with multiple lacerations, according to a criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
Medical personnel treated the victim \u2014 identified by police as Joshua Keiser \u2014 for a four-inch laceration to the left side of his face, near his eye, and a 10-inch laceration to the back of his left shoulder, officers said.<\/p>\n
When Keiser and a friend \u2014 identified as Cinnamon Sharp \u2014 stopped at a food truck at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Linden Street, around 2 a.m., Sharp attempted to break up a fight between two males but was punched in the face and knocked out, police said<\/p>\n
Then, as Keiser tried to help Sharp, a male he identified as Kartier Sherry assaulted him with a box cutter, according to the criminal complaint.<\/p>\n
During an interview with police at the hospital, Keiser told police he knows Sherry from Scranton High School, and added that Sherry\u2019s sister, Kashmir Sherry, also assaulted him, officers said.<\/p>\n
The incident was captured on video surveillance, police said.<\/p>\n
Police charged Kartier Sherry, 736 Orchard St., with aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, simple assault, simple assault with a deadly weapon, and harassment.
