SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) \u2014 Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries Thursday evening after a vehicle struck them on Harrison Avenue, according to the Scranton Police Department.<\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched around 5:06 p.m. on December 11 to the area of Harrison Avenue and Mulberry Street following reports that a vehicle had hit two pedestrians. When patrol units arrived, they located the involved vehicle stopped a short distance away in the 400 block of Harrison Avenue.<\/p>\n
Emergency Medical Services treated an adult man and woman at the scene before they were taken by Pennsylvania Ambulance to Geisinger Community Medical Center.<\/p>\n
Investigators say the pair were standing in the roadway when they were hit. A preliminary review, supported by witness interviews and surveillance footage, indicates the pedestrians were in the eastbound lane of the road when the northbound vehicle struck them.<\/p>\n
The Scranton Police Highway Unit Supervisor and the Pennsylvania State Police CARS Reconstruction Unit conducted a full forensic crash reconstruction at the scene.<\/p>\n

Both victims remain hospitalized with serious injuries.
