ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Just days apart, police responded to a bomb threat at an Allentown middle school.<\/p>\n
Trexler Middle School students are returning back to a regular schedule Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
Police were called to Trexler Middle School around 8:30 a.m. Monday for reports of another bomb threat. It was the second one that the school received within less than a week.<\/p>\n
Officers conducted a sweep of the school grounds and building with help from a canine team but did not find any suspicious packages.<\/p>\n
The threat was determined to be false, city police said. A male juvenile was arrested and is charged with terroristic threats.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, officers were originally called to the middle school for reports of a bomb threat.<\/p>\n
Police arrested a juvenile male, and the threat was determined to be a hoax.<\/p>\n
The Allentown Police Department says the two incidents are not related.<\/p>\n
According to an email from Trexler Middle School Principal Bob Morrow sent to the community, bomb threats are considered a level 4 infraction according to the Allentown School District\u2019s Student & Family handbook, \u201crepresenting an immediate danger to the safety and wellbeing of the entire school.\u201d<\/p>\n
Morrow told 69 News Reporter Cierra Genelle Tuesday morning the school is stressing to students to have strong communication.<\/p>\n
School administrators met with students at the end of the day Monday to make sure they felt they had a safe space to talk about their feelings about the recent school incidents.<\/p>\n
